MUSE Inspire Turns the Big 4-0…and More From the 2023 Conference

Hundreds of MEDITECH users from hospitals and facilities throughout the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom gathered in Denver last week for the 40th MUSE Inspire Conference to learn, share, and celebrate. 

The exhibit floor was the hub for healthcare professionals, industry experts, and tech innovators eager to discuss some of today’s most pressing MEDITECH topics – and AI took the spotlight. The DrFirst team showcased medication management innovations, price transparency, and medication adherence using AI in the MEDITECH EHR. 

Four Key Take-Aways:

 

1. AI Unleashed: Insights from Berkshire Health Systems 

Jason MacLaughlin, Manager of Clinical Applications at Berkshire Health Systems, shared insights and lessons learned from harnessing AI to translate incoming sig data into their unique MEDITECH nomenclature seamlessly. The implementation saved thousands of hours, improved medication history accuracy, and increased medication fills and patient satisfaction. 

 

2. Vendors Unite 

Over 80 vendors, including longstanding partners and newcomers, were in attendance, showcasing the vendor community’s unwavering commitment to MEDITECH and its customers’ success. The collaborative spirit and diverse solutions emphasized the strength of the vendor ecosystem. 

 

3. All Aboard the Expanse Express 

There were dozens of educational sessions focused on solutions like Care Compass and Population Insight, as well as tools and resources to facilitate MAGIC, Client Server, and 6.x customer migrations to Expanse. The emphasis on education underscored MEDITECH’s commitment to supporting customers through their digital transformation journey. 

 

4. The [GOAT] Keynote 

MEDITECH’s executive leadership addressed top industry topics during the keynote. This included population health, clinician burnout, and the role of AI in healthcare. The speakers provided insights into MEDITECH’s strategic focus areas and its dedication to addressing critical challenges facing the healthcare industry.
