SiliconMesa announced today its new partnership with DrFirst to provide Rcopia® e-prescribing software, EPCS GoldSM 2.0 e-prescribing for controlled substances, and Patient AdvisorSM medication adherence functionality to medical practices in New Mexico and west Texas through the company’s SiliconMesa® EHR Electronic Health Records and Practice Management system.
Through the integration of DrFirst’s Rcopia software, SiliconMesa EHR users will be able to improve patient care and increase patient safety by reviewing comprehensive, real-time clinical information about each patient. Patient information available through Rcopia includes drug and allergy interactions, complete medication history and formulary information. Providers will be able to efficiently and securely submit electronic prescriptions to any retail or mail-order pharmacy, with all resulting prescribing data instantly captured within the SiliconMesa EHR application.
In addition, SilconMesa EHR users will be able to e-prescribe for controlled substances through DrFirst’s EPCS Gold 2.0 service. Electronic prescribing of controlled substances is legal for Schedule II through V in New Mexico and for Schedule III through V in Texas.
SiliconMesa EHR will also include DrFirst’s Patient Advisor service, designed to achieve better medication adherence and resulting health outcomes for patients. Patient Advisor’s digital dashboard details a patient’s prescription fill-rate, alerts the provider when a patient needs coaching, generates direct-to-patient reminders and refill alerts, and facilitates patient access to co-pay and prescription coupons, education, and other support tools.
