LSS Data Systems (LSS) and DrFirst, Inc. today announced they are partnering to enable thousands of physicians and other healthcare providers to utilize DrFirst’s award-winning Rcopia e-prescribing technology with the LSS Medical and Practice Management (MPM) Suite. This integration will utilize technologies developed by DrFirst, and will allow LSS to bring a time-tested e-prescribing application to market quickly.

The integration will provide LSS users true EDI e-prescribing and renewal functionality, real time health plan formulary and plan design information during the prescribing process. Physicians may also request patient medication histories in order to consider a patient’s total treatment profile when making new prescribing decisions. When coupled with the integration of ambulatory and acute care data from across the enterprise made possible by the LSS/MEDITECH partnership, the agreement between LSS and DrFirst will give providers using the MPM suite access to rich patient profiles for medical decision making.
