Rockville, MD –

HIT Services Group (HITSG), formerly a subsidiary of Gamewood, Inc., announced a new partnership to add DrFirst, Inc.™ Rcopia EDI e-prescribing capabilities to their web-based electronic health records for physician practices. HITSG providers now will not only have instant access to their patient’s electronic health record (EHR) information, but medication history, current formulary and eligibility information, and pharmacy renewal requests, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week wherever Internet connectivity is available. This new e-prescribing functionality will enable physicians to capture and report data for pay-for-quality programs. The partnership will also allow HITSG to bring a best of breed e-prescribing application to market quickly with a shorter training to adoption cycle.

“At HITSG, our EHR solution was designed by physicians, for physicians to allow for a high user adoption rate,” said Dana Hensley, CEO of HITSG. “Therefore, we saw an immediate fit with DrFirst because their e-prescribing solution was designed with the same philosophy in mind, putting the doctors first, and because of their award winning functionality.”

Connecting HITSG with DrFirst’s™ Rcopia GoldRx™ Certified e-prescribing technology will allow users to send and receive renewal scripts electronically to pharmacies, access patient medication history beyond their clinical offices, send electronic scripts to the mail order pharmacies, share patient data with other providers, and reduce pharmacy callbacks due to non-formulary compliance.

“With the understanding that all providers run their businesses differently, we believe that providers need to have the flexibility to choose the software that best suit their workflow needs,” said G. Cameron Deemer. “Therefore, we are pleased to have HITSG join the DrFirst’s Open Borders program and are proud to partner with a company whose goals are to ensure their clients not only receive optimal functionality but also a user friendly experience.”

About HIT Services Group
HITSG’s EHR is a full-featured, web-based EHR that offers broad interoperability with other health information technology systems. The company recently announced a multi-year sublicensing agreement with Fresenius Medical Care-North America (FMCNA). This agreement created a new program specifically for nephrologists (Fresenius Medical Care CKD Solutions) that will allow nephrology practices to use the HITSG EHR as well as participate in a data collection program specific to chronic kidney disease. In addition to this initiative, the EHR is also deployed throughout the country in a wide variety of practices representing multiple medical specialties. Visit www.hitsg.com for more information.
