DrFirst’s iPrescribe: 23rd Annual Digital Health Awards® Winner
Rockville, MD – June 18, 2021 – DrFirst’s iPrescribe® was selected as a winner in the 23rd annual Digital Health Awards® program for spring 2021. This competition—held each spring and fall—recognizes the world’s best digital health resources.
iPrescribe Mobile E-Prescribing with AI-Powered Medication History and Secure Patient Messaging received a Silver Award in the Connected Digital Health/Clinical Mobility Tools category. (See the blog for more.)
“We were honored to have iPrescribe selected as a winner from more than 700 entries in the Digital Health Awards competition,” said G. Cameron Deemer, President of DrFirst. “iPrescribe has proven to be a game-changer for busy physicians when they travel between sites, are on call, or work from home. Healthcare providers understand that electronic prescribing is safer for patients and more efficient for pharmacies and prescribers, but they sometimes still turn to paper, faxes, or phone calls. iPrescribe gives them a convenient way to write and renew prescriptions from any location using a smartphone or tablet.”
iPrescribe can be used for new prescriptions and renewals and for electronic prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS). The app is fully HIPAA-compliant to keep patients’ protected health information secure, provides safety alerts for potential drug interactions and allergies, and allows real-time access to patient medication history and copay information.
The Digital Health Awards program is organized by the Health Information Resource CenterSM (HIRC), a national clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields. Other well-known HIRC programs include the annual National Health Information AwardsSM (healthawards.com), which annually recognizes the nation’s best consumer health programs and materials (for non-digital resources), and the annual National Women’s Health & Fitness Day® (fitnessday.com/women).
