Partnership Allows for Quick Rollout of Award-Winning Software and Service to Greenway’s 13,500 PrimeSuite Customers

June 28, 2007

Rockville, MD —

Greenway Medical Technologies today announced that its 2007 CCHIT certified electronic health record (EHR) product, PrimeSuite® 2007 R2, has been integrated with DrFirst’s award winning Rcopia e-prescription technology. Integrated electronic data interchange (EDI) e-prescribing has become an expected and required component of healthcare information technology (HIT) solutions, and the partnership allows Greenway® to further compliment its complete physician’s infrastructure with the addition of leading e-prescribing functionality.

The addition of DrFirst™ Rcopia technology into Greenway’s PrimeSuite enhances the physician’s ability to electronically submit patient prescriptions. Prescriptions can be sent directly from the point-of-care through PrimeSuite to the patient’s preferred pharmacy or remotely where physicians can securely access Rcopia via a PDA or web-browser to submit a prescription that will ultimately synchronize with the patient’s medical information already contained within PrimeSuite.

The integration will provide Greenway customers with point-of-care EDI e-prescribing and prescription renewal functionality as well as valuable real-time health plan formulary and plan design information. Physicians may also request patient medication histories in order to consider a patient’s total treatment profile when making new prescribing decisions.

DrFirst has established partnerships with such companies as SureScripts, RxHub, FirstDataBank and many others to ensure that Greenway has access to the most reliable and up-to-date information and services.

“With healthcare costs rising and reimbursement rates declining, Greenway is dedicated to assisting our customers by reducing clinical, financial and administrative costs while at the same time increasing patient care quality and return in investment (ROI), which DrFirst’s Rcopia technology helps to do,” said Tommy Green, chairman and CEO of Greenway. “By utilizing e-prescription technology, we reduce the chance of prescription-related errors through the numerous safeguards inherent in this technology. Ultimately, this partnership makes it easier for physicians to deliver the highest quality patient care at the lowest cost.”

“We’re very pleased to build this partnership with Greenway because the expansion of Rcopia technology to Greenway’s extensive customer base will continue to establish that e-prescribing is now a necessary standard of care,” said G. Cameron Deemer, president of DrFirst. “We are defining new ways for leading solutions like Greenway’s PrimeSuite to quickly and seamlessly integrate Rcopia’s powerful capabilities directly into such EHR, practice management and interoperability solutions. As digital technologies continue to drive healthcare stakeholders together, the great value and opportunity inherent in these types of partnerships is increasingly apparent.”
