DrFirst sought to be the first vendor in the U.S. to attain all necessary certifications to meet U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) final rule requirements for e-prescription of controlled substances. In order to meet the strict identity proofing standards, DrFirst selected security leaders Symantec and its partner Experian. The joint technology offering from Experian and Symantec is the first of its kind for e-prescribing and was developed specifically for DrFirst.
